Our goal is educate children through a fun, yet educational processes
that will enable them meet the challenges of our global world. We
encourage them to use all their senses, feelings and to portray their
full intellectual capabilities. We present them with many challenging
activities that will help them cultivate their curiosity and awareness.
We help your children prepare for the future while allowing them to
be children.
Play is a very important part of learning. We create special activities
that develop physical and mental coordination and growth. Play is
not as simple as it sounds. Our program of play develops the ability
to invent, imagine, organize, test and discover. It is the best way
to learn important cognitive skills and concepts. It is also a way
in which the children learn to share, cooperate and empathize with
others. They learn to create and sustain relationships, which is also
imperative in order to be socially fit.
We create an atmosphere where learning is fun and educational. This
gives the children a positive outlook on future learning. Love and
caring for others is also emphasized. With these elements the children
learn to become self-confident, self-reliant and competent adults.

Our Philosophy
Our Children Are the Future!
We believe the first years of a child's life are the most important in the child's development.
These are the years your child will acquire the values and the joy in learning which will lead him toward a productive and happy life.
We welcome the opportunity to help your child achieve his/her full potential.
We believe teachers, parents and children need to aid in the children’s growth and development by building a strong bond through communication and working as a team.
We feel children should be allowed to experiment and be provided with the opportunity to explore and create in a safe and healthy environment.
We believe in encouraging and praising children to inspire them to think for themselves, allowing them to draw their own conclusions.
We understand that when children play everything relates to the real world, therefore for children, playing is learning.
We encourage children to be kind, fair, and to share.
We believe by providing a safe, clean, loving environment we show the children to they are loved, valued, and wanted.
We also believe that by keeping the teachers happy they will stay longer, being able to create a strong bond and trust with the children.
We strive to maintain the highest quality childcare.
We aspire to make a difference in the lives of the children, families, employees, and in the community we serve.
We are dedicated to the safety and future of all children.
We always value the rights of the children by giving them one on one attention and listening to them. We make sure we get to their level and talk with them rather than at them.
We are committed to every child and family at our center.
We aim to enrich everyone’s life that we are in contact with including the children, parents, and staff.
We believe in providing age appropriate activities for the children in all areas of learning.

- Small classes
- Smaller teacher child ratios
- Qualified Teaching Staff
- Character Education
In our preschool classrooms, we offer a developmentally age and stage appropriate curriculum by using the creative curriculum and active learning series all of which emphasis a variety of hands-on activities in order to teach to all of the learning styles -- visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic.
The preschool curriculum is designed with some very important goals in mind. First the curriculum needed to encompass the following components:
- To teach to multi-levels within the same class - challenging and stimulating all.
- To teach to all learning styles - auditory, visual, tactile and kinesthetic.
- To be non-sexist in our format
- To present a multicultural program by offering experiences that draw from many cultures in our world.
- To teach to the nature of the young child.
Second, our curriculum needed to fulfill the school's philosophy, allowing for maximum creativity on the part of our staff, as well as the children. We especially wanted children to leave Sunnyside Up childcare center with two tools to carry with them throughout their formal education. One tool is the attitude that all discovery/learning is exciting and fun; the other tool is a positive "can-do" attitude that translates into healthy self-esteem. These tools form the foundation for success in school.
